Bears select OL Jordan Morgan in 5th round The Chicago Bears continue to address the offensive side of the football by selecting offensive lineman Jordan Morgan.
With the selection of Morgan, general manager Ryan Pace has now selected four players on offense of the team’s five picks in the draft. Unless Chicago makes another trade, Morgan might round out their 2017 class.
Morgan played guard at Division-II Kutztown, starting four seasons for the Golden Bears at left tackle. But he will move to the inside and play guard or center in the NFL.
Here’s what NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein wrote on Morgan before the draft:

Four-year starter at left tackle who was able to physically overwhelm much smaller opponents across from him. Morgan is a good athlete with the nastiness as a run blocker that is necessary to transition inside to guard, but he could be headed for early struggles mirroring NFL rushers in pass protection. Morgan could become a solid NFL backup with eventual starter potential if he improves his balance and stops lunging.

In 2016, he was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Offensive Athlete of the Year for his play. He becomes the fourth player ever from Kutztown University to be drafted in the NFL joining John Mobley, Andre Reed and Don Shaver.
The Chicago Bears add to their offensive line by selecting guard Jordan Morgan in the 5th round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
