Rams select DE Ejuan Price in 7th round The Los Angeles Rams with their final selection of the 2017 NFL Draft decided to take Pittsburgh defensive end Ejuan Price with the 234th overall pick.
Price spent four years at the collegiate level racking up 29.5 sacks with 53.0 tackles for loss and 143 total tackles. He was highly productive in his last two seasons garnering 11.5 sacks in 2015 and was tied for sixth-most in the nation with 13.0 sacks in 2016, which earned him First-Team All-ACC selections in each campaign.

Although there is some criticism about Price being a stiff-hipped pass rusher, he has the potential to be an effective factor along the Rams’ talented front seven. In line with that, the 24-year-old believe he could “naturally” fit in the mix as an outside linebacker in the 3-4 defensive scheme under defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
“I think naturally I’m a 3-4 outside linebacker, so I couldn’t have asked for a better fit,” Price said. “I’m just blessed to have this opportunity. I’m just grateful that it finally came around after three long days. I think I’ll fit right in with what I do. My specialty is penetration and pass rush so I think I can definitely be useful.”
Price will have the opportunity to play alongside another Pittsburgh product in two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who he has some familiarity with dating back to their high school days.
“We played on the same team for a bit and we were rivals in high school,” Price said. “We never got the opportunity to link up and work out when he comes back to Pittsburgh because I was in college doing my thing and he was in the pros doing his thing so time schedules didn’t really permit. We go to the same trainer now, so I’m sure we’ll have some sessions in the summer time.”
Price could latch onto a spot at outside linebacker due to the lack of depth at the position with him and Samson Ebukam, who was selected by the Rams in the fourth round, joining Connor Barwin and Robert Quinn at the spots.
