Texans Select Oregon State’s Treston Decoud The Houston Texans select Oregon State defensive back Treston Decoud in the 5th round of the NFL Draft. Treston Decoud is from a NFL bloodline, with his cousin Thomas Decoud having spent time in the NFL. Before landing at Oregon State, Decoud spent time at Division II Chadron State in Nebraska.
At 6’2″ and 206 lbs., Decoud has 21 career starts with the Beavers and participated in both the East-West Shrine Game and the NFL Combine.
Appearing in 12 games at cornerback, Decoud tied for the team lead with 10 pass breakup and finished the season with 58 tackles. Additionally, he had 2.5 tackles for loss and is considered a safety prospect moving forward.
The Texans are looking for help in the secondary and, with the addition of Decoud, they worked to address just that.
