Chris Wood believes his game is heading in the right direction as he looks to find some form at this week’s Volvo China Open.
The BMW PGA Champion has struggled during the early part of 2017, with a share of 11th on the Desert Swing at the Qatar Masters the best return from his seven starts this year.
Wood has dropped to 65th in the world rankings and missed the cut in the opening major of the year at the Masters earlier this month, but is confident of an improved display at Topwin Golf and Country Club.

Wood is without a worldwide top-10 since last year’s victory at Wentworth

“It’s been getting there,” Wood told the European Tour about his game on Tuesday. “I’ve been playing alright just not really scoring, hence why I need to keep playing really.
“When you’ve been playing well but not scoring and then you really feel like you are showing a bit of form, you’re eager for Thursday to come to test it out.
“I’ve had a couple of weeks off since the Masters and practiced hard at home. I’m ready for this week. I’ve been playing the golf, but just not getting it in the hole.”
The Englishman tees off for the opening two rounds alongside Alexander Levy and Europe Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn, while last week’s Shenzhen International winner Bernd Wiesberger makes up a threeball with defending champion HaoTong Li and Thorbjorn Olesen.

Wiesberger claimed play-off victory over Tommy Fleetwood in Shenzhen

Any win is special and unique in its own way,” Wiesberger said. “I would have to say it’s special because I didn’t play great on Sunday – I had to grind it out.
“I’m proud of myself that I was able to handle whatever was thrown at me by the other guys and get through the play-off. I feel like I am playing nicely.”
