Ian Poulter’s PGA Tour future is on the line as he battles to retain his full playing privileges at this week’s Valero Texas Open.
Poulter missed several months of last season with a foot injury and has been playing under a medical extension during the early part of this campaign.
The Englishman was well-placed to challenge for a first win since 2012 during the final of last week’s RBC Heritage, only to end in a tie for 11th and five strokes short of eventual winner Wesley Bryan.

Poulter has been a member of the PGA Tour since 2005

A disappointing two-over 73 on Sunday at Hilton Head means Poulter heads to TPC San Antonio for his 10th and final start of the exemption still needing $30,624 to keep his card.
Poulter was frustrated by his final round in South Carolina, with the five-time Ryder Cup star now requiring, roughly, a top-30 finish to maintain his playing rights.
Anything less would see him lose his full PGA Tour card and rely on sponsor’s invitations for the remainder of the season.
