Rafa Cabrera Bello becomes the first man in Players Championship history to make a spectacular albatross on the 16th at TPC Sawgrass

Rafa Cabrera Bello etched his name in the history books at The Players Championship as he became the first ever player to make an albatross on the 16th at TPC Sawgrass.
Cabrera Bello was two over for the day after 15 holes of his final round, but he vaulted back to five under for the tournament with one swing of a long-iron and a fortunate bounce at the 523-yard par-five.
The Spaniard’s drive trickled just off the the fairway, but he took a bold line with his second as he went for the green in two, bringing the water on the right into play as he took dead aim at the pin, 181 yards away.

His ball looked to be heading for the pot bunker 30 yards short of the green, but it pitched just over the trap and took a big hop forward before running through the fringe, onto the green and straight into the cup for a spectacular albatross.
Cabrera Bello launched into a frenzied celebration and threw his club into the air, although he put too much fade on it and had to retrieve the iron from the edge of the water hazard!
